The band Rendition is based in Central, SC and has been playing across the Upstate since 2001. Rendition has its roots in jazz music emphasizing great swing charts from the big band era to popular contemporary swing bands, mixing in blues, bossa nova, Latin, and pop variations. The heart of Rendition is its four horns (trumpet, alto sax, tenor sax, and trombone) blended together to give a full, strong harmony and improvisation style to well-known and recognized songs. Currently, the horns are backed by computerized drum and bass rhythms programmed specifically to complement and enhance the horn sounds of Rendition. The computer-based rhythm backgrounds allows Rendition to perform at events having more limited space and budgets than is normally required for larger bands. Rendition has played for parties, charity events, wedding receptions, and major outdoor festivals and music events throughout the upstate.
